Akabella co-leader Dave King recently worked on the music for ‘Hush, baby, hush’, a collection of lullabies from various countries.
A beautiful book with wonderful illustrations by Pam Smy and all kinds of lullabies ranging from jokey nonsense to dire threats to beautifully soothing lovesongs, it would make a lovely present for Christmas!
The lullabies are presented in both their original languages and fresh English translations by Kathy Henderson, who compiled the book, while the melodies, transcribed by Dave, are added so that the lullabies can be sung. Dave has added simple chordal accompaniments to several of the melodies.
‘Hush, baby, hush’, published by Frances Lincoln children’s books, is available from October 7th at £12.99.

BATH FESTIVAL FRINGE GIG
AKABELLA will perform at the Oriel Hall in Larkhall, Bath, on Sunday June 6th at 7 pm, as part of the Bath Fringe Festival.

'THE SUMPTUOUS SONGBOOK 2’, a new collection of Dave King's fabulous vocal arrangements for Akabella,is now available!
There are arrangements of such well-known favourites as ‘My Sweet Lord’, ‘This Guy’s In Love’ and ‘’How Deep Is Your Love?’ as well as jazz standards and great ballads.
